UK Fire & Security is a leading fire and security solutions provider. The client base ranges from private homes to small local firms and large national businesses – all sectors with sites and offices around the UK.
This role as a BDM is to be responsible for creating and delivering new sales opportunities both in Fire & Security for UK Fire & Security. This role will work closely with the Sales & Operations Director and the UKFS team and to also collaborate across the APG group internal stakeholders, customers and network partners business to grow and extend our proposition to the markets we serve.

The business needs to be focussed on creating turnover and profit with end user customers. A key focus is adding new customers and building a pipeline of business opportunities that covers both Fire & Security.

Job Description

  • Create sales opportunities from new and existing business opportunities
  • Seek out cross selling opportunities across customer accounts from other APG customers
  • Develop a fire & security footprint for UKFS
  • Help identify and support in attracting and building a network of engineers to deliver Fire & Security services (where relevant) in required geographical areas and with the required commercial agreements
  • Build a blended portfolio of install and service contracts.
  • Identify new opportunities through the various means such opportunities get presented (tenders, portals etc)
  • Attend networking events and promote the UKFS business
  • Regular review of the profitability of won accounts and make decisions to protect the margin performance
  • Build the number of end user businesses with contracted terms
  • Work with marketing to grow the social and digital footprint of UKFS.
  • Support in providing input and knowledge into process/procedures to develop the Operations & Sales performance of UKFS.
  • Support the requirement (mobilisation) where required to convert WON sales in actual Turnover in a timely and efficient manner
  • Seek market insight into the competition, customers, relevant associations within the fire & security sector
  • Provide monthly reporting on activity and pipeline activity and forecasting
  • Utilise the CRM to build a ‘database of customers and contracts.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Build a pipeline of sales opportunities.
  • Create a strong evidence sales pipeline of activity (ie meetings, tenders, spot work, referrals)
  • Utilisation of the new CRM system – Zoho and simPRO.
  • Enhance the reputation of our businesses and continue to further establish a strong foothold and market presence in the Fire & Security Sector.
Person Specification:
  • Self-motivated and experienced selling fire & security solutions to the commercial sector
  • A leader with strong motivational traits
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Technical knowledge of product base
  • Good networker – both internal and external
  • Excellent IT/communication/presentation skills
  • Budget management and attention to detail
